TRANSPIRE: Lung Injury in a Longitudinal Cohort of Pediatric Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) Patients
The TRANSPIRE study is a multi-institutional initiative by the Bone Marrow/Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant and Pulmonary Divisions of eight institutions, which includes a collaboration between patients, families, physicians and other care providers, dedicated to gathering data and samples from patients undergoing HSCT (hematopoietic stem cell transplant) . The goal of this study is to create a strategy that identifies the method of lung injuries in HSCT patients and test diagnostic strategies to reduce morbidity and mortality from lung injuries after transplantation. We aim to address the current gaps in knowledge that exist within this field to provide better outcomes for all our patients present and future.
